Like the clay in a Potter’s hand, so are we in the Lord’s hands, we are his handiwork, He made us, we are His people. What it simply means is that, we don’t get to set the rules, He makes the rules and we humbly follow them, no questions asked, you just respond with Yes Lord. He made you, and defines for you how you should live your life and the purpose for which you were established, this is why we have NAMES, the name define the purpose of that creature, for instance, God changed Abram’s name to Abraham which means “Father of many Nations”, and that’s what Abraham went on to become. (Genesis 17:4)
The same way He defines our purpose, that is the same way He defines how we should live for us to accomplish the essence of our existence. So when He appeared to Abram, He told him this, When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am [a]Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. 2 And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.” Genesis 17: 1-2
God first declared to Abram about His sovereignty by saying He is the Almighty, that He has absolute Authority and Power over everything and then He defined to Abram how he should live His life “Walk before me and be blameless”. That is how Abraham is supposed to live His life according to what The Almighty have defined. Abraham didn’t ask anything simply because God is Almighty, what is required of Him is to walk blameless, and if He is able to walk blameless before God, God then said, I will make My Covenant between Me and You and will multiply you exceedingly’
God has defined both the Purpose of Abrahams existence and also how that purpose can be achieved. So when everything is said and done, this is what God told Isaac about his father Abraham, Genesis 26 3 – 5 ………and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; 5Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
God is going to do exactly what he told Abraham that he will do simply because Abraham followed the rules and that is what God is testifying to his son (Isaac) about that …5Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
Do you get it, that He is the Potter, and we are clay in his hands, He does whatever pleases Him, He is not accountable to anyone……..The creator makes the rules and the creature follows them, this is why He calls us sheep. The sheep follows the shepherd wherever they go, no questions asked. Like Jesus said, My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: John 10:27, You see the sheep doesn’t just hear the voice or listen to the voice, the sheep listens to obey and act according to what they heard.
So because Abraham obeyed Gods voice, kept His charge, His commandments, statues and Laws . He is called the Friend of God, even Adam wasn’t called the friend of God. There was nothing like 10 commandment or Bible for Abraham but he was able to live a perfect life for God. You and I have the Word and the Spirit of Christ in us, what is your excuse for not living right before your God? Isaiah 41 ; 8 But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend. So it is possible to be the Most High’s friend, that is if you will obey his voice. Not Like Adam and Eve did. Like Jesus said, You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. John 15:14
Understand that we are not our own, we do not set the rules, we do not define how we should live, we cannot be ourselves, we are made to be like Him not like ourselves. If you ever want to be yourself and do as it pleases you, then Hell and the lake of fire is waiting for you. You must have the mind of Christ to be like Christ, not the mind of yourself, we are not our own. So we must have the mind of Christ and be like Christ himself.
The moment you go contrary to the Word, you only invite curses upon your life, nobody disobeys and goes free. From Adam’s time to now, if you disobey you will pay dearly. I once told you that Jesus is the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world, yet when He healed the Man with infirmity for 38 solid years, He told him not to sin again, lest a worse thing will come to him. What he told him meant that sin is the cause of his imfirmity for 38 years. And you would think Jesus will tell the man to ask for forgiveness of sins whenever he sins, since Jesus was going to die for the sins of the world. Jesus told him point blank sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
With this Jesus is telling us that there are consequences for the sins we commit even though He has died for our sins, He told the man not to sin in his entire life, not once or twice or sometimes and even said worse thing will come despite He going to die for the sins of the world.
Whatever you do, you will reap, make no mistake about that. The savior of the World, told a man never to sin, if you think this standard is too high, you can imagine yourself to be in Hell or the lake of fire, where you will stay forever and ever. The rich man in Lazurus story is still in hell, assume he died 2000 years ago, what it means is that he has been tormented for 2000 years, without any hope, repentance, salvation, absolutely no hope of coming out simply because you won’t follow the rules set by God. The sad reality of going into the lake of fire is that, it is without end, you wont stay there for 3000 years, or for 9000 years, you will stay there from everlasting to everlasting, not till thy kingdom come but to the end of numbers, provided there is an end to numbers.
The only thing we are to live by is the Word of God, anything from anyone will lead you to death. For anyone who is not obeying the word is on the path of death. For to live, is to obey the voice of God in every sphere of Life no matter the circumstances. His Word stands above all else, that is why He asked Adam and Eve, “Who told you that you are naked” because He is the only one who has spoken to them, and expected them to only follow what he said, the moment they listened to someone else, the moment they took the serpents words, death had it way in the world.
If it is the not the Lord’s words then it is Death, no matter how it is presented, no matter the shape or form. We must learn from Abraham to obey and to do whatever that is required of us.
There are many opinions, including our own thoughts about life but that will not give us life. What will give us life is the Word of God, if you want to live forever and ever with God, just live by His Words.
Creatures do not set rules, they are made to follow the rules, whatevery rule you disobey, you will face the consequences. The Lamb came to take away the sins of the world, yet still Hell hasn’t be scrapped it is still there accepting people, the lake of fire has already been prepared even tho the lamb has taken the sins of the world. What it means is that you will reap what you sow regardless. Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. John 8:51
You have to sit down and think about the number of times Adam and Eve disobeyed God, just once ooo. Just once in an instance and God rained curses on them. And the lamb came to give us an opportunity to get back to God, but we are rather using it as an opportunity to sin more and more. We do not understand the scriptures, that there is a limit to forgiveness. So Paul said, Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
This is why Jesus told the man never to sin in his entire life again because if we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there is no sacrifice left, but do you know what will happen to you…
Hebrews 10: 28-29 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?
Deliberately sinning is an insult to the spirit of grace, and Paul is saying during Moses’s time those who disobeyed the Law died without mercy, emphasis “without mercy’ and with this he is saying something worse than these will come on someone who deliberately keep on sinning, he says it is an insult to the spirit of grace as such your punishment is more severe than them.
The question is , what happened to those who disobeyed Moses’s Law, Pau said they died’. So now what is more worse, or severe than death?
In Moses’s time, it was a Physical death, they just hung or stone the person to death, but during our time no one will stone you. So what punishment is more greater or severe or worse than killing someone physically? You know the answer already.
And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
If you want to escape Hell or the lake of fire and the Wrath of God, just be like Father Abraham, Obey the voice of God, obey everything He has said. Don’t be like Adam and Eve who would want to taste and see just once. Do not sin at all. Do not live by any word aside that which is written.
