Zechariah:14:9 says..the LORD shall be king over all the earth: when He returns but before He [Jesus] returns to this earth and touch the ground, there is going to be a family reunion in the sky -what you know of as rapture as Paul wrote in 1 Thessalonians: 4:16’17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Also in 1 Corinthians: 15:51’52’53 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality..
When Jesus comes back, he will appear in the sky, the believers who have died will be raised back to life in an immortal body and meet the Lord in the air and those who are still alive will also be caught up in the sky and also be transformed and given a new body which is immortal body and incorruptible, but what will that body look like, it’s features and what it will be able to do? In 1 Corinthians 15:40, Paul explains that there are two types of bodies: There are heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another.
There is an earthly body and a heavenly body (spiritual body).
You already know what the earthly body is like – that’s what you live in now. It is limited by time, physical space and the physical eye. As the eye cannot behold air neither can the physical hand touch it. We lost our immortal body in the garden of Eden when Adam disobeyed God, but through Christ we shall receive back what we lost that’s why Paul wrote in Romans 8:29 that we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.
Our adoption in Christ will be fully manifested when we receive our real bodies. Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15:42 on how we will receive the same body Jesus resurrected in, when Jesus returns to set up His Kingdom on earth.
This is how it will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 1 Corinthians 15:42’4
Whatever Jesus had and whatever he went through whilst on earth, we too will go through just as he did. Whatever Jesus had when he was raised, we too will receive same. Paul writes in Philippians 3:20’21 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
Paul said in the resurrection we will be like Christ and Jesus also said we will be like the angels. Both Jesus and angels have the heavenly body, when Jesus was resurrected He had the same body as the angels, and thats the body we too will have. Luke 20:34-36 Jesus replied, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. But those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God’s children, since they are children of the resurrection.
God referred to the resurrection of Jesus as the begotten of the dead. He referred to Him been resurrected in his heavenly spiritual body.
I will tell of the decree: The LORD said to me, “You are my Son; today I have begotten you. Psalm:2:7
This he has fulfilled to us their children by raising Jesus, as also it is written in the second Psalm, “”You are my Son, today I have begotten you.” Acts: 13:33
In the book of Revelation Jesus is called the ‘first begotten’ from the dead because we too will receive heavenly bodies when he returns.
And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,- Revelation:1:5
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Romans:8:29
Our only guarantee of getting this new body is the Holy Spirit in us. Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. 2 Corinthians 5:5
Now to what Jesus was able to do in his new body: When Jesus was raised from the dead, He was raised in a heavenly spiritual body. In this body Jesus was able to interact with both the spiritual and physical realms. He was able to exist in both realms at the same time. The natural human body can only exist in the physical, and the eye cannot even behold air though it exist.
There is a physical realm and the spiritual realm. Our physical hand cannot touch the spiritual realm neither can the physical eye behold it. The only connection with man to the spiritual realm is in the spirit of the man. However, in the resurrection or at Christ return we will be given a heavenly spiritual body which can interact and exist in both realms at the same time. Heavenly bodies are not ghost because ghost has neither flesh nor bones. And Jesus demonstrated that when He was raised from the dead, where He ate food and passed through walls with that body.
When Jesus was resurrected, before His disciples even knew He had come back to life, they were all gathered in a room with the doors locked because they were terrified of been killed by the Jewish leaders. And out of nowhere Jesus appeared right in front of them. The emphasis on the fact that the doors were locked but still Jesus came to stand among them without opening the door.
On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” John 20:19
Also in John 20:26, same thing happened, where He appeared out of nowhere to stand among them while the door is locked.
A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”
The physical eye can’t behold air, the physical hand can’t touch it. Yet it exists. The physical eye can’t see oxygen, the physical hand cannot touch oxygen, but apart from oxygen, mankind is dead. Oxygen is even more real than our physical existence, for without it we die. Therefore, let there be no confusion regarding the existence of God, who clearly tells us that he IS spirit – John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
And in the Greek translation of scripture, the word ‘spirit is implied as ‘breath’ or ‘air’, for they are in the same dimension. Notice how scripture mentions that before Adam came to life. God breathed into his body, and then Adam breathed his first breath of life Thus, God put within him his very own essence which is ‘spirit or ‘breath’ or ‘wind or oxygen’, they are in the same dimension.
Moreover, God is not some old man sitting on a cloud, he is the life force that moves and sustains all. He is the air that you breath.
