Do Not Be Deceived

When the disciples asked Jesus about the signs of His coming, the first thing He told them was:
“Take heed that no man deceive you.” – Matthew 24:4

The devil, through the serpent, deceived Adam and Eve—and look where we are now. But for the love of God, there is hope for every man to be reconciled to God.

Today, the devil is deceiving us not through a serpent but through man—the Antichrist—just as God is saving us through Jesus, the Son of Man.

God only gave Adam and Eve two laws to follow in the Garden of Eden. Just two, oo.
“And the Lord God commanded the man, ‘You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.’” – Genesis 2:16–17

– The first law: Eat from any tree.
– The second law: Don’t eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

So, during that time, their “Bible” was only these two laws. The devil had limited options for deception—but still managed to deceive them by slightly twisting and contradicting God’s word.
While God said they would die, the devil said:
“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. – Genesis 3:2

After they were deceived, do you know how many laws were later given to Moses in the Old Testament? Six hundred and thirteen! From 2 laws to 613 laws. Now, the devil has so many more avenues to deceive us, and man has so many more laws to follow.

Today, the devil deceives through many things—money, fame, power, and more. He doesn’t even need to contradict God directly anymore. Just money alone makes his work easy. His false prophets and false messiahs make it even easier.

“For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” – Matthew 24:24

So just imagine what will happen to those who don’t believe God, or who believe but don’t do His will—they will easily be deceived.

You must seek the Holy Spirit in your life, who will guide you into all truth. You must know the truth through the Word of God and walk in wisdom at all times. Walk with your eyes open—your soul is on the line. It’s either the lake of fire or the new earth.

“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.” – Matthew 10:16

Please, be wise. If you lack wisdom, ask God:
“Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” – James 1:4–5

Your soul is on the line. Don’t let anyone deceive you into hell. Be equipped and mature enough to discern the truth.

“Look carefully then how you walk, not as fools but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” – Ephesians 5:15–18

Do not be deceived—the devil is a master of disguise and takes on many forms. He does not come to you in the form you expect, but in the form you least expect. He uses vessels of honor—kings, the rich, the gifted, people of high status—because he knows you wouldn’t follow a poor man. He gives you the best of everything because he knows man wants the best.

“Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counselors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.” – Daniel 3:2

These were not ordinary people, but people of high caliber—the rulers of society. If the devil can control them, he controls the masses.

In Daniel 3:4:
“Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages…”

Though only the elite were invited, the herald referred to them as people, nations, and languages—because those men represented the entire society.

In the Garden of Eden, the devil did not use a pig, dog, or leopard—but the wisest animal: the serpent.
“Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made.” – Genesis 3:1

That’s why Jesus said, “Be wise as serpents…” (Matthew 10:16). The devil uses the best of everything to get what he wants—because man desires the best.

The devil knows you want the best car, house, clothes, jewelry. Even in relationships, you want perfection—physically and financially. He will give you all these things if it means capturing your soul. But nothing he gives comes for free. It comes to destroy you, steal your soul, and kill you before your time—so you don’t get the chance to repent.

The devil will always appear as something good. He will not come to you looking like a monster. He will come as an angel of light.
“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness.” – 2 Corinthians 11:13–15

Satan is the head of the dark kingdom, yet he appears as someone from God. He disguises himself to deceive you. He comes in forms you’ll accept without hesitation or doubt. So how will you know the difference between Satan and Jesus, who is the Light of the world? Only someone filled with the Holy Spirit, walking in wisdom, and sound in both body and spirit can discern the difference.
