Everyone knows there is a place called heaven, which they want to go to one day. It is a place everyone desires to go when they die, because it is a place without death, a place of peace, no sorrow, a place where we live with God for eternity. If you ask anyone whether they want to go to heaven or not, the answer is always a “Yes”… but they don’t live a life of someone going to heaven. You will see that they don’t know the heaven they said “Yes” to — that only saints go there, the chosen ones, the elect of God. As Paul said in 2 Timothy 3:5, there are those who claim to follow God yet deny Him through their false actions—those who claim to be Christians but whose actions say otherwise.
First of all, let’s see where Heaven is; where God’s throne is.
The location of God’s heavenly throne is nowhere near us, not even in this universe. God’s domain of heaven is so far away from this universe—it is outside of it. In simple terms, the God who made the computer is not in it but outside of it. Jesus ascended higher than the universe to sit at the right hand of God:
Ephesians 4:10 — He [Jesus] who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.
The LORD is high above all nations, and His glory above the heavens. Who is like the LORD our God, who is seated on high, who looks far down on the heavens and the earth? — Psalm 113:5
The domain of God is very far away from the earth and the heavens above. The heavens and earth are things God can look at from His perspective. It makes more sense that His throne is outside the universe because He created it.
Hebrews 11:3 — By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God.
Genesis 1:1 — In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
The very fact that He created the heavens and the earth means He is outside the limits of it and proves that He doesn’t have to be contained within it. Where God lives has no beginning or end; He lives in eternity—outside of time.
God’s domain is so much bigger than this universe. He is not in the next galaxy or anywhere close.
Heaven is a place you temporarily go until Jesus returns. Those who die in Christ go to heaven to wait for the return of Christ and judgment, and those who do not die in Christ are reserved for judgment in Hades or Hell.
The final abode for those who die in Christ is not Heaven, but the new Earth where God will dwell with man, just as He intended when He created Adam.
Revelation 21:1 — And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away.
The final abode for those who end up in Hell or Hades is the lake of fire.
Revelation 20:14 — And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Don’t let anyone deceive you that when you die, that’s the end. When you die, you don’t cease to exist—you are not an animal. Though the flesh—the body—is dead, the spirit is not. The moment you die, you are conscious, and your spirit goes to where God’s throne is.
The reason is because Paul wrote that even though he wants to be alive and do God’s work, he would rather be away from the body and be with the Lord—and this can only happen if the body is in the grave and the spirit is with the Lord.
2 Corinthians 5:8 — We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
Another reason that you don’t cease to exist—and that your spirit is alive and conscious—is this:
Revelation 6:9–11 — When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters, were killed just as they had been.
What this illustrates is that those who die in Christ are in heaven waiting for Christ to return to judge the world. Also, when your spirit goes to heaven, you will be conscious and remember your life on Earth—just like the souls under the altar calling for God to bring judgment to earth.
You don’t live only once; you live forever, but there is a transition from this world to another, of which you have no control—in the sense that how you live your life and who you worship will determine where you will finally be after death on earth. You are not the one to tell God where to be when you die; He knows those who are His and takes them up when they die.
There are a lot of religions in this world, a lot of false messiahs claiming to be the Christ. It is up to you to open your eyes and seek the truth. Don’t wait till you die and find out in Hell, because at that time it will be too late.
I repeat: you don’t cease to exist when you die. That’s why it is emphasized in Revelation 1:7 — “Look, He is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him.”
You and I know that those who pierced and crucified Jesus on the cross are dead—and died about 2000 years ago—but the Bible makes it clear that they will see Christ coming with the clouds:
“…every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him.” — Revelation 1:7
Have you noticed who Zechariah said is coming… and who He is coming back with?
Zechariah 14:5–6 — Then you shall flee through My mountain valley… Thus the Lord my God will come, and all the saints with You. It shall come to pass in that day that there will be no light; the lights will diminish.
Have you also noticed who Titus said will be coming?
Titus 2:13 — Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Have you also noticed what David said about the second coming of Christ and who He is coming for?
Psalm 50:3–5 — Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before Him… Gather My saints together unto Me; those that have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.
Have you also noticed what Jesus said—that He will send His angels to gather the chosen ones or the saints?
Matthew 24:30–31 — And then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven… and He shall send His angels… and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds.
Thomas called Jesus Lord and his God, and yet was not rebuked:
John 20:28–29 — Thomas said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
We serve the true God, Jesus.
1 John 5:20 — And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding… This is the true God, and eternal life.
Isaiah 9:6 — For to us a child is born… and He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Revelation 1:17–18 — I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending… I am He that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
There is only one God—that is Jesus Christ, who is our Saviour and is coming back to judge the world.
Isaiah 43:11 — I, even I, am the LORD, and besides Me there is no Savior.
Deuteronomy 6:4 — Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.
Isaiah 44:6 — Thus says the LORD… “I am the first and I am the last; besides Me there is no god.”
This is what Paul said: that God purchased the Church with His own blood:
Acts 20:28 — …to shepherd the Church of God which He purchased with His own blood.
The Creator who made the heavens and the earth is the one who came down to earth to die and save us from His own wrath—and if you don’t believe, you will die in your sins.
John 8:22–24 — “…You are from below; I am from above… if you do not believe that I am He, you will indeed die in your sins.”
Jesus Christ is God and our Savior.
You can’t have Jesus Christ without God. As He said, “I and my Father are one.” So if you reject Jesus Christ, you have rejected God. There is no other way to God than through Jesus Christ.
1 John 2:22–23 — Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
Isaiah 43:10–11
“You are My witnesses,” says the LORD… “Before Me there was no God formed, nor shall there be after Me. I, even I, am the LORD, and besides Me there is no Savior.”
God went from sovereignty to shame, and from deity to death. Why? For you.
John 15:13 — “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”
Romans 5:8 — “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
This is the God who created us. We rebelled against Him, yet He still loved us and still loves us. So God Himself, through the virgin birth, became a man, came to this earth where He suffered, was hated, mocked, persecuted, nailed to a cross—and He did it for us, in our place, so we may have eternal life and be saved from His own wrath.
The fate of every man is summarized here—a tragic end for anyone who rejects Jesus Christ, and eternal life for anyone who believes and walks in obedience to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and further letting us know that NO ONE CEACES TO EXIST when they die on earth.
John 11:25 — Jesus told Martha, “I am the one who raises the dead and gives them life again… Do you believe this, Martha?” She replied, “Yes, Master,” I believe you are the Messiah, the Son of God, the one we have so long waited.”
